How to read this category

SMR is a scale and delivery family — not one reactor technology

The SMRs in this dataset span light-water PWRs, a boiling-water reactor and a high-temperature gas reactor. That means the label “SMR” alone does not tell you coolant, fuel, outlet temperature, refueling approach or intended industrial use.

Output range

The curated SMR set spans tens to hundreds of MWe per module or unit.

Technology

Light-water and high-temperature gas designs can sit in the same “SMR” category.

Project maturity

Design approval, regulatory assessment, project development and construction are different milestones.

Background: World Nuclear Association SMR Design Database. Reactor-specific claims below come from the source linked on each profile.

Dataset comparison

Compare the designs on the fields that actually differ.

This is a curated comparison, not a claim that the list is exhaustive.
