Nuclear Planner is an independent educational project built around interactive calculations, visual explainers and source-backed reactor comparisons.
What the site is for
The project is designed to make nuclear scale easier to inspect: how 1 MWe differs from 1,650 MWe, how reactor classes differ, what a programme status actually means, and how basic energy conversions change when assumptions change.
What makes a page worth keeping
We prefer pages that do something concrete: filter a curated dataset, compare designs, expose calculation assumptions, visualize scale or explain a technical concept with a useful diagram. We avoid mass-producing near-duplicate reactor or location pages just to increase page count.
Editorial rules
- Design specifications and programme status are kept separate.
- Source and verification date are shown on every reactor profile.
- Calculator assumptions are visible and documented in Methodology.
- Uncertainty and project-specific limits are stated instead of hidden behind a score.
What the site is not
It is not engineering, licensing, procurement, investment, medical, radiation-safety or emergency-response advice. Critical decisions should use current regulator, operator, vendor and qualified-professional guidance.
Corrections
If a source has changed or a field is wrong, use the correction workflow. The aim is to make corrections traceable rather than silently rewriting a snapshot.
