Portable Nuclear Reactors
See which designs are explicitly intended for transportable deployment and compare their scale with fixed-site reactors.
Portable does not mean “a reactor driving down the road”
Transportability is about how a reactor system is delivered, removed or exchanged. Licensing, security, siting and operating rules still apply at the destination. The two transportable designs in this dataset are both microreactors, but they differ substantially in output and refueling interval.
Vendor concepts may target road, rail, ship or air transport depending on the package.
Transportability is not permission to operate during transport.
A destination still needs the required approvals, security, interfaces and supporting infrastructure.
